A review of the multiple security failures surrounding the Trump assassination attempt

In a past life I spent years working security, from the age of 17 all the way up my mid-thirties (I’m now in my fifties) to be precise.

In that time I worked all kinds of security, from rough bars and nightclubs here in Scotland to celebrity-laden events and nightclubs in Hollywood, California. I have worked front-stage security at major music concerts involving David Bowie, Queen, Tina Turner, Rod Stewart, U2, Simple Minds, and so on.

I have also worked VIP security gigs involving providing close protection to various high profile sports stars, Hollywood celebs, labor leaders, and political dignitaries.

I have worked the red carpet at various Hollywood movie premieres and also major mansion parties attended by the great and the good of the movie, music and sports industries. And, finally, I worked close protection security at the 2000 Democratic National Convention, held that year in Los Angeles, California.

In my time I have worked with ex-US Marines, former members of the British Army, LAPD officers, LA Sheriff’s Department officers, and also former and current members of the US Secret Service.
