A letter to an Israeli soldier

Your murderous assault against 2.2 million men, women and children of Gaza you have been waging now for twenty long months. Launched in response to the killing rage of an occupied, besieged and oppressed people — whose killing rage was the child of your own as their oppressor — it has wrought unprecedented devastation and carnage.

Starved, besieged, yet unbowed, the Palestinians of Gaza can do nothing except endure as your bombs and your missiles continue to rain down.

Israel has the right to defend itself, you and your supporters in the West tirelessly claim. This, in truth, amounts to justification for the genocidal slaughter you and yours have unleashed against an indigenous people in the name of a white European settler-colonial project. It is a project the crimes of which would shame all the devils in hell.

When you moved into Gaza, you did so with murder on your mind and hate in your heart. Both of the aforementioned have and are informed by the racist ideology of Zionism — ethno-supremacist in character and ethno-fascist in practice. The historical irony has clearly escaped you. It has not, however, escaped us.
