This was in service to a Greater Russian identity. Kievan Rus, etc. Here in Scotland we suffered the self-same atrocity under the rubric of the British Industrial Revolution. Some call it modernity, others genocide.

Here, you drive down into the very heart of the matter. That you consider the Soviets worse than the Nazis constitutes a shocking lack of perspective.
