Yeah, October 7 did not take place in a vacuum. The Palestinians have endured countless of those since the apartheid racist state of Israel landed in their midst with the force of a meteorite in 1948.

As to the specific atrocities you cite, I haven't seen or read compelling evidence of those. Did not mean they didn't happen, of course, as atrocities are committed by all sides in armed conflict. Conflict itself is an atrocity.

Here's the thing though. You can't keep 2.2 million human beings confined to a latter day reservation for 17 years, control their access to clean drinking water, to electricity, deny them freedom of movement, deny them hope and a future, reduce them to a state of abject immiseration. You can't do all that and expect them to come out the other end as anything other than enraged, traumatised and filled with hate.

Hamas is a symptom of the above. Hamas is not the cause.
